Race Sixteen - Final report
Our last blog of this Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2013 - 2014.
It has been an intense year with massive memory impact, that will stay with me for a very long time. All the seas we sailed, all the ports we visited and all the people we met. Today will be the last Parade of Sail up the River Thames to St. Katharine Docks next to Tower Bridge.
Our last sail race has been another close racing game, we took the lead for a while when our spinnaker halyard broke and we continued under white sails in a changing wind, you could call that perfect timing or just pure luck! Unfortunately we broke a Yankee sheet and fell back some places. The race was extended by adding an extra loop in the course because the fleet managed to keep a good boat speed all the time.
Last night Friday July 11 we finished sixth in the last race half a boat length in front of PSP Logistics, leaving us sixth overall in the final ranking - an achievement we are proud of. Thank you all for supporting us around the world and if you are there this weekend, see you in St Katharine Docks!
Life's what you make it!
